The Regional Archaeological Museum of Maaseik offers a fascinating look at the history of the Meuse region, from prehistory through the Middle Ages. The collection includes Roman finds, medieval objects and famous pieces such as the Codex Eyckensis, one of the oldest manuscripts in Belgium. The museum is an important cultural landmark in the town.

Accessibility is largely good for wheelchair users. The entrance is step-free and most exhibition rooms are on the ground floor. A lift serves most upper floors, though some of the historic structure can pose limitations. Accessible toilets are provided and staff are happy to assist with any questions.

The museum is in the centre of Maaseik, within walking distance of the Market Square and Saint Catherine's Church. Adapted parking spaces are available nearby. A visit to the museum combines well with a walk through the historic centre.
