Musee Brigade Piron Trois-Ponts
The Musee de la Brigade Piron in Trois-Ponts is dedicated to the history of the Belgian Piron Brigade, which fought alongside the Allies during the Second World War from the United Kingdom in Normandy and the Low Countries. The collection consists of uniforms, weapons, personal belongings and original documents that document the history of this often forgotten unit.
The museum is housed in a renovated building whose exhibition spaces are on the ground floor. The entrance is at ground level and adapted toilets are available. The circulation between the display cases is wide enough for a wheelchair; some corners with memorabilia are arranged a little more compactly. Part of the collection is set up in an adjoining building, which is also step-free accessible.
Trois-Ponts lies at the confluence of the Salm and the Ambleve in the Ardennes, on the border between the provinces of Luxembourg and Liege. The car park in front of the museum is free with several PMR spaces. A visit combines well with a walk along the banks of the Ambleve or with the Coo Waterfalls and nearby Stavelot.
