The National Bank of Belgium Museum, housed in a stately 19th-century building on Warmoesberg in the heart of Brussels, charts the history of money in Belgium from antiquity to the euro. The collection includes rare coins, old banknotes, trade items and interactive installations on the role of money in society. Free admission and a permanent focus on financial education make it a surprisingly accessible city outing.

During its recent renovation, the museum was made fully wheelchair accessible. The main entrance is step-free via a modern ramp. All floors are reachable by a spacious lift. The display cases and interactive screens are at an accessible height, with wide aisles for wheelchair circulation. Adapted toilets are available on every floor, with grab bars, a lowered sink and ample manoeuvring space. Audio devices with subtitles and tactile objects support visitors with additional needs.

Parking in the centre of Brussels is limited; Parking Rue du Marché aux Herbes and Parking Treurenberg are five to ten minutes away by wheelchair. Central Station metro stop is nearby and has an accessible lift. The surrounding streets are largely paved with level pavements. Combine your visit with a stop at St. Michael's Cathedral or a step-free guided tour through the Royal Library.
