Parc de la Petite Suisse Andenne
Parc de la Petite Suisse lies on the bank of the Maas in Andenne, a quiet town halfway between Namur and Huy. The park owes its name to the rolling relief that recalls a miniature Swiss mountain landscape. Many old trees, a small pond with fountain and the view of the Maas weir lock make it a beloved spot for families and walkers.
The main paths are paved and wide enough for wheelchairs. Due to the height differences there are slopes that recommend a companion for manual wheelchairs — electric wheelchairs handle them effortlessly. The side paths are narrower and partly unpaved. At the riverside, the park connects to the RAVeL cycle route along the Maas, which is fully paved and level and lends itself excellently to long, relaxed outings. Adapted toilets are available in the neighbouring Bibliotheque Communale Andenne.
Disabled parking spaces lie at Avenue Roi Albert and along the Maas quay. Andenne station is ten minutes' roll away via an adapted route. A visit combines ideally with a tour along the Maas, a terrace break in one of the cafeterias on the quay or a visit to Andenne's ceramics museum, which is also largely wheelchair accessible.
