The Botanical Garden of Ghent University is a scientific botanical garden of over 2.5 hectares, with a rich collection of more than 10,000 plant species from all over the world. The garden has seven large greenhouses, including a tropical rainforest greenhouse, a cactus greenhouse, and a Victoria greenhouse with giant water lilies. The outdoor collections show, among others, a systematic garden, a medicinal garden, and an arboretum.

For wheelchair users most paved main paths and the large exhibition greenhouse are well accessible. The entrance is step-free and an adapted toilet is available at the reception. Some older greenhouses have narrow passageways or thresholds that are less suitable; staff can help with finding an adapted route. The arboretum and the more distant parts sometimes have gravel paths where an electric wheelchair has advantages.

The botanical garden is free to enter and is within walking distance of Ghent-Sint-Pieters Station and the MSK. Disabled parking spaces are present on the K.L. Ledeganckstraat. The garden organises an annual Christmas market with extra attention to accessibility.
