The provincial estate De Nekker in Mechelen is an extensive recreation and sports area with swimming lakes, playgrounds, sports fields, a water-ski track and spacious lawns. The estate attracts many day visitors every year and offers a varied programme for families and sports lovers. The associated Nekkerhal events complex is also part of the estate.

The visitor centre and the vast majority of the estate are barrier-free. The wide paved paths connect the entrance with the main attractions and seating areas around the lake. An adapted toilet is available at the visitor centre and at the main sanitary facilities of the recreation area. Wheelchair users can also access the swimming lake via a special strip.

There is a spacious central car park with several PRM spaces at the entrance to the estate. The connections between car park, entrance and the sports and recreation fields are paved and level.
