Restaurant Toas lies in the historic centre of Mechelen, within walking distance of the Grand Market and Saint Rumbold's Cathedral. The restaurant combines a contemporary Flemish cuisine with an extensive beer list of Mechelen and Belgian breweries. Specialities such as the Mechelse koekoek (Mechelen cuckoo chicken), seasonal asparagus and regional stews feature on the menu, presented in a refined, modern style.

The restaurant is barrier-free thanks to an adapted entrance with a slight ramp. The dining room on the ground floor is spaciously laid out with ample passage for wheelchair users. An accessible toilet with turning space and grab bars is on the same floor. When booking, a table with extra manoeuvring space can be reserved.

The pavements around Toas are partly paved and partly cobbled, typical of Mechelen's historic city centre. The flat, paved sections dominate, keeping the access acceptable for wheelchair users. There is no on-site car park, but the public Veemarkt car park, a few minutes wheelchair distance away, offers disabled parking spaces. Mechelen station is a short tram or taxi ride away.
