Pukkelpop
Pukkelpop is the Belgian rock festival in Hasselt-Kiewit that has welcomed 180,000 visitors annually since 1985. The festival is the reference for accessibility in the Belgian festival scene — a reputation built through years of collaboration with Bumpers vzw, the Flemish association of festival-goers with disabilities.
The accessibility approach is built up on multiple levels. An extensive accessibility platform close to Main Stage offers a clear view of the main stage without standing in the crowd. A second platform is at The Wonder for the electronic line-up. Both platforms have dedicated access control and are only accessible to accessibility wristband holders and their companion.
The wristband system works as at other Belgian festivals: order your regular ticket in advance and email your disability attestation to Pukkelpop for the adapted accommodation. You then receive confirmation that a free companion ticket is available. On arrival you check in at a separate info desk where you receive the accessibility wristband and the companion wristband.
The adapted camping zone for those staying the whole weekend is separate and has its own adapted sanitary facilities. Adapted mobile toilets are spread across multiple locations on the festival site. Bus 16 (low-floor) shuttles continuously from Hasselt station to within 5 minutes of the entrance. Accessible parking is on site itself with adapted spots right next to the adapted entrance.
For those who prefer a hotel stay: Mercure Hasselt is a 5-minute taxi ride away with an adapted room. For longer stays, combine with a Bokrijk day after the festival.
Good to know
- Reservation
- Email Pukkelpop with your disability attestation **2-3 months in advance** to request a free companion ticket and accessibility wristband — capacity is limited and in demand. Bumpers vzw helps coordinate.
- Busy and quiet times
- 14-17 August 2026 — Thursday to Saturday are busiest. Reserve the adapted camping zone separately in advance.
- Things to note
- **Accessibility platform** close to Main Stage and The Wonder, with good views and dedicated access control. Adapted sanitary facilities spread across multiple locations. Camping partly adapted. Semi-paved paths between stages — for finely tuned wheelchairs, bring buggy tyres in case of rain.
