The Lesse nature reserve stretches along the final section of the river before it joins the Meuse near Dinant. The area combines steep wooded slopes with open calcareous grasslands and old meander beds, offering a varied biotope much loved by walkers, nature photographers and kayakers. Here the Lesse is a quiet river meandering between white cliffs, with the occasional sandbank or stand of willows along the bank. It is a popular destination in the tourist season, but outside the busy months a great calm prevails.

Accessibility is partial. The main path along the bank in the lower section of the reserve is laid on a semi-paved track and, in dry weather, is comfortable for a wheelchair with larger wheels. Further from the river the path becomes steeper and stony, where wheelchair use is no longer possible. At the starting point there is a rest area with a few benches and, on summer days, an accessible mobile toilet. Permanent accessible toilets are available in the centre of Dinant a few minutes' drive away.

At the entrance is a small car park with accessible spaces. The best time to visit is spring or autumn when the paths are dry and the crowds are limited. Combine a nature visit with the Citadel of Dinant or the Maison Leffe for a varied day mixing nature and culture.
