Saint Servatius Church Ronse
Saint Servatius Church in Ronse is a modest but historically valuable church in the centre of the Flemish Ardennes. The church preserves traces of various building phases, with a Romanesque choir and a late Gothic tower. It forms part of the religious heritage of Ronse, a town also known for the large Saint Hermes Collegiate Church a few streets away. A visit is rewarding for those who want to explore the quieter side of Ronse heritage.
Accessibility is partial. The main entrance has two historic steps without a permanent ramp. A portable ramp can be arranged by appointment with the parish secretariat. Inside, the central nave is on the ground level with sufficient turning space, but the side chapels and the choir have small level changes. The paving around the church is a mix of tiles and historic cobblestones, which can be uneven in places.
There is no adapted sanitary facility inside the church itself; public adapted toilets are available in Ronse town hall, five minutes' wheelchair distance away. Reserved parking spaces are on the Grote Markt. Combine your visit with the accessible visitor centre of the Saint Hermes crypt, where audio and visual aids tell the rich religious history of Ronse.
