The Coucou playground is part of Heysel Park in Laken, a stone's throw from the Atomium and Mini-Europe. The park is a fixture for families from Brussels and visitors to the Heysel plateau. The playground was recently entirely renewed with inclusive play equipment suitable for children of all ages and abilities. A wheelchair-accessible roundabout, a large ground-level trampoline and sand tables at various heights ensure that every child can join in.

Accessibility is fully thought through. From the main entrance of Heysel Park a paved path leads to the playground, wide enough for a power wheelchair or a large buggy. The zone around the equipment has a rubber safety surface that is comfortable to roll over. An accessible toilet is located in the visitor centre next to Mini-Europe, only a few dozen metres away. Benches and picnic tables are scattered across the site.

The car park beneath Brussels Expo has many accessible spaces and is connected to the Heysel plateau by lift. By public transport the site is reachable via Heysel metro station, which is fully step-free. Combine a visit to the playground with Mini-Europe, the Atomium or Heysel Park itself for a day out in northern Brussels.
