Square Albert Marche-en-Famenne
The Square Albert is the most central town park of Marche-en-Famenne and lies close to the belfry, the Place aux Foires and the shopping streets. The park was laid out in honour of King Albert I and preserves the atmosphere of a classic town garden, with flower beds, old trees, benches and a memorial monument. It is a beloved place for lunch breaks and short walks.
The walking paths in the park are paved, flat and wide enough for a wheelchair or a double stroller. The entrances are step-free and there are sufficient rest benches along the main routes. Adapted toilets are available in the nearby public buildings, such as the town hall and the tourist office, just a few dozen metres from the park.
In the streets around the Square Albert there are reserved PMR parking spaces, and the wider car parks of the centre are within walking distance. The park combines well with a visit to the Famenne and Art Museum, the centre of Marche, and the many cosy terraces of the town.
