Domaine de Bertrix

The Domaine de Bertrix is the main recreation area of the municipality of Bertrix in the southern Ardennes. The domain groups together a playground, picnic meadows, sports fields and walking paths through lightly wooded zones around a large pond. It is freely accessible and used year-round by families, walkers and sportspeople.

Accessibility is well provided. A paved, flat promenade of nearly a kilometre runs around the central pond and can be followed entirely with a wheelchair or rolling walker. Adapted toilets are available at the welcome building, as is a ground-level terrace. The playground has several pieces of equipment that are accessible for children with disabilities.

The car park is flat and free, with multiple PMR spaces close to the main entrance. The domain is just minutes from the centre of Bertrix and the train station, and is a pleasant base for outings in the southern Ardennes, towards Bouillon, Herbeumont or the nature reserve of the Semois Valley.
