Thermae Boetfort Melsbroek
Thermae Boetfort is one of the largest wellness centres in Belgium, located in the Boetfort castle estate in Melsbroek, a few minutes from Brussels Airport. The complex combines a 16th-century moated castle with modern extensions and offers dozens of saunas, steam baths, rituals, indoor and outdoor pools, a large relaxation pavilion and a restaurant. Both day visitors and hotel guests are welcome, and a bathrobe formula makes it possible to spend a whole day without changing clothes.
In terms of accessibility, Thermae Boetfort scores well in the newer sections and less so in the old castle. The modern entrance hall is barrier-free with automatic doors, there is a lowered reception desk, and there are adapted changing cabins with their own shower, fold-down bench and grab rails. The large indoor pool and the outdoor pool are reachable with a mobile pool lift; ask at reception. Adapted toilets are spread across the various zones.
The estate is extensive. The paths between the sauna garden, the outdoor pool and the relaxation gardens are partly paved and partly gravelled. A driver or companion is recommended for those who cannot cover longer distances independently. The car park has sufficient reserved spaces right next to the main entrance. By car, Thermae Boetfort is a few minutes from the E19 motorway and the Brussels Ring.
