Thermen Dilbeek
Thermen Dilbeek is a spacious wellness centre on the western edge of Brussels, surrounded by greenery but only fifteen minutes' drive from the capital. The complex combines Finnish saunas, steam baths, a Turkish hammam, aroma baths and a quiet indoor pool. Infusion ceremonies are held daily and, if desired, massages or beauty treatments can be added. The atmosphere is tranquil and adult; under eighteens are not admitted.
In terms of accessibility, Thermen Dilbeek is among the better examples in Belgium. The entrance is barrier-free with automatic sliding doors and the reception desk is partly lowered. Adapted changing cabins with their own shower, fold-down seat and grab rails are available by request at the till. A pool lift makes the indoor pool accessible to wheelchair users. The sauna and steam rooms have wider doors and sloping entries without steps. A spacious adapted toilet is centrally located in the changing area.
Several reserved parking spaces on paved ground lie right next to the entrance. The entire route between car park, entrance, changing area and sauna garden is level and paved, with only a slightly sloping path to the outdoor sauna. Those arriving by public transport can take the bus from Brussels-South or Dilbeek station; the stop is about five minutes' pushing from the entrance over a paved pavement.
