Tillegembos
Tillegembos is a provincial domain on the edge of Bruges, in the municipality of Sint-Michiels. The estate is centred around the medieval Castle of Tillegem and offers a beautiful green oasis of woodland, ponds and open lawns. A 2.9-kilometre walking path winds through the domain, providing a pleasant circular walk through the varied landscape.
The walking paths at Tillegembos are paved and flat, making the domain excellently suited for wheelchair users. The 2.9-kilometre path is fully accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter. PMR parking spaces are available at the main entrance. Toilet facilities are present, though they are not always fully adapted -- it is advisable to check in advance. The terrain is mostly flat with no significant inclines.
The domain is free to enter and open year-round. Tillegembos is easily accessible from the centre of Bruges by car or bus. There is a playground for children and several benches along the path where you can rest. The castle itself is not open to visitors but provides a picturesque backdrop. Tillegembos is an ideal destination for a peaceful walk in the green, a stone's throw from the historic city centre of Bruges.
