Vredestraat Park Halle
The Vredestraat Park in Halle is a small, friendly neighbourhood park in a quiet residential area on the south side of town. Although it is less well-known than the central Halle Town Park or the nearby Hallerbos, it makes for a pleasant green stop for those wanting something peaceful without travelling far. The park consists of an open lawn with a few old beech trees, a play corner for the youngest visitors and a network of walking paths that connect to the surrounding residential streets.
Accessibility is good. The paths through the park are level, paved with blocks or solid dolomite and comfortable for a wheelchair, mobility scooter or rollator. There are no thresholds or inclines that might cause problems. Several benches offer the chance to take a break. The park is fully open and has no kissing gates or other obstructions at the entrances. There is no public toilet on site, but accessible toilets can be found in the town centre of Halle, ten minutes' drive away.
Parking is possible along the Vredestraat itself, with a few spaces, including one accessible space near the main entrance. The park is also well served by the town bus, with a stop a few minutes away on level pavements. Combine a visit with a short walk in the Hallerbos in spring bloom or with the accessible Basilica of St Martin in the centre of Halle.
