B&B Stadshuis Lier
B&B Stadshuis occupies a renovated 18th-century townhouse in the historic centre of Lier, within walking distance of the Grote Markt and the Zimmertoren. The building preserves its original high ceilings, wooden panelling and marble mantelpieces. The hostess offers a stylish breakfast with local products from the Nete region and has furnished her guest house with care.
One ground-floor room is adapted for guests with reduced mobility: a wide door, a lowered bed and a walk-in shower with a fold-down seat and grab rails. The main entrance has a small threshold of two centimetres; the host places a portable ramp on arrival. The breakfast room and the courtyard are on ground level. The upper floors are only reachable via a historic staircase.
Parking with a disabled permit is possible in a few spots around the Grote Markt, although part of it is paved with cobbles. The Beguinage car park is a ten-minute roll away via a partially paved route. Lier is compact and clearly laid out; the redeveloped ring around the Kleine Nete has comfortable paths where you can easily enjoy an accessible city tour.
