Brasserie Grand Café Nordzee Blankenberge
Brasserie Grand Café Nordzee is a real classic on the Blankenberge promenade. The brasserie serves guests from breakfast to late evening, with an extensive menu combining typical Belgian dishes with a broad selection of North Sea specialities. Moules-frites, vol-au-vent, beef stew and sole fillets are on the menu year round, alongside children's dishes and generous salads. In summer, the large terrace offers hundreds of seats with a direct view of the sea.
During the most recent thorough renovation, Grand Café Nordzee was specifically upgraded for accessibility. The main entrance on the promenade is completely step-free, and wide glass sliding doors open automatically. The interior is spaciously arranged with enough room between the tables to manoeuvre easily, even with electric wheelchairs. The accessible toilet is centrally located in the room, fitted with grab rails, a large turning circle and a lowered washbasin. The terrace can be reached from inside via a flat transition.
A few dozen metres from the brasserie there are reserved PRM parking spaces, and the entire Blankenberge promenade is wheelchair-friendly with a wide paved promenade. The coastal tram stops right nearby. A visit to the brasserie combines perfectly with a roll towards the pier or the lighthouse square.
