Wenduine Beach
Wenduine is a charming seaside resort between De Haan and Blankenberge and is part of the municipality of De Haan. The beach is narrower than those of the larger neighbouring towns, but this gives it a pleasantly quiet atmosphere. The characteristic Rotonde building on the sea dyke is a well-known landmark and an architectural signature of the East Coast.
The beach is well accessible for wheelchair users. The sea dyke is fully level and the main beach groynes are equipped with Mobi-Mat paths that run deep into the sand. In summer, free beach wheelchairs are available at the lifeguard post at Rotonde square. Adapted toilets can be found in the De Rotonde visitor centre and at the beach entrances.
Reduced-mobility parking spaces are provided at Zeelaan and Gemeenteplein. The Coastal Tram stops at Wenduine-centrum with accessible level boarding. The centre of Wenduine is largely a pedestrian zone and is therefore easy to explore for wheelchair users. Restaurants and chip shops along the dyke are often wheelchair-friendly at terrace level.
