The beach of Knokke-Heist is one of the most fashionable and expansive beaches on the Belgian coast. It runs from Heist via Duinbergen, Albertstrand and Knokke all the way to the Zwin nature reserve on the Dutch border. A modern sea dyke, more than 12 kilometres long, offers a flat promenade with many restaurants, cafés and artworks from the Beaufort project.

The municipality of Knokke-Heist invests heavily in accessibility. At various points along the sea dyke, wheelchair-friendly beach accesses with wooden paths (Mobi-Mat) lead deep into the beach. During the summer, free beach wheelchairs (Tiralo) can be borrowed at Blue-Flag posts 4 and 11, which even allow visitors to go into the sea. Adapted toilets are present at the beach groynes and the kiosks along the sea dyke.

Spacious free reduced-mobility parking spaces are provided at the main beach accesses, including at Rubensplein, Van Bunnenplein and Heldenplein. The Coastal Tram (Kusttram) runs along the entire coastline and has low-floor trams for wheelchair users; most stops are fully accessible. The level sea dyke and many places to eat and drink make Knokke-Heist one of the most accessible coastal destinations in Belgium.
