The beach of Middelkerke stretches out over about four kilometres between Westende and Raversijde. It is a typical Flemish family beach with wide stretches of sand, play facilities for children and numerous beach cafés along the sea dyke. The new sea dyke of Middelkerke was recently entirely redesigned and is now wider, flatter and equipped with benches at regular intervals.

The beach's accessibility is well developed. Mobi-Mat paths have been placed at various groynes so that wheelchair users can easily get onto the sand. Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge at the lifeguard posts at Epernayplein and J. Casinoplein during the summer months. Adapted toilets are present in the casino visitor centre and at the main beach accesses.

Reduced-mobility parking spaces are provided along the Zeedijk and at the new Casino-Kursaal building. The Coastal Tram stops at several accessible stops in Middelkerke, of which the Middelkerke-Bad stop is fully adapted for wheelchair users. The level sea dyke and the spacious beach accesses make the beach an excellent choice for visitors with reduced mobility.
