♿ Wheelchair accessible

The Surfhuys on Blankenberge beach is a surf, SUP and kite watersports centre that puts a strong focus on broad accessibility. In addition to the classic offering for adults and young people, there are regular introduction days for adaptive watersports, with adapted sit-on-top kayaks, tandem SUP boards with a stable backrest and surfboards that can be pushed by accompanying guides. A beach wheelchair is permanently available for Surfhuys visitors.

The clubhouse on the beach is reached via a wooden boardwalk that leads from the seafront promenade to the door. The entrance is barrier-free, with wide doors and sufficient turning space in the reception area. An adapted changing cabin with fold-down bench, grab rails and shower seat is available; the adapted toilet is right next to the cabins. Staff assist guests with changing and the transfer from wheelchair to beach wheelchair.

Blankenberge's seafront promenade is fully paved and barrier-free. Visitors arriving by car will find several reserved parking spaces on the promenade and on Kerkstraat, with direct access to the Surfhuys via the paved boardwalk. Blankenberge station is about fifteen minutes' pushing away via a gentle slope over paved terrain.
