Cafe De Uitvinder Mol
Cafe De Uitvinder in Mol is a contemporary cafe-restaurant on the Markt that quickly became a fixture for residents and visitors. The name refers to the Kempen inventor Jacobus Smits, and the interior combines modern furniture with industrial accents. The kitchen is approachable and focuses on quality sandwiches, salads and small hot dishes. The beer list is extensive and features craft regional beers from Kempen breweries.
The cafe was designed with accessibility in mind. The main entrance on the Markt is step-free, and the spacious cafe area on the ground floor offers plenty of room to manoeuvre for power wheelchairs. Part of the bar is lowered for wheelchair users. An accessible toilet with full fittings can be found behind the cafe area.
The terrace on the Markt is one of the largest and most attractive in Mol. It is fully step-free and offers a fine view of the small church and the market square. There are three disabled spaces reserved on the Markt, a few metres from the cafe. The whole market square has recently been redesigned with level cobbled surfaces and is excellent for wheelchair use.
Cafe De Uitvinder is an ideal break stop during a day in Mol. Combine it with a walk in the Stadspark Mol or De Merode Park Mol, and a visit to the Jacob Smits Museum Mol or the Cultural Centre 't Getouw Mol. The cafe is open year-round and has long opening hours, including evenings.
