Sister Bean is a trendy coffee bar in the heart of Mechelen that stands out thanks to its specialty coffee from its own roastery. The space is bright and airy with large windows, light wooden furniture and ample passages between the tables. Besides coffee, Sister Bean offers homemade sweet and savoury snacks such as banana bread, granola bowls and avocado toast. A popular stop for those seeking quality coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.

The entrance is fully barrier-free from the pavement in the centre. Inside, everything is on the ground floor with wide passageways and movable chairs that can be quickly rearranged to make space for a wheelchair. The adapted toilet has grab bars, a lowered washbasin and sufficient manoeuvring space. The staff is helpful and happy to speak Dutch and English.

Parking in the centre of Mechelen is limited; preferably use Parking Zandpoort or Parking Tinel, both with disabled spaces and a lift that opens onto flat paved pavements. The coffee bar is a ten-minute roll from Mechelen station, which is fully accessible. Combine your visit with the nearby Hof van Busleyden or Saint Rumbold's Cathedral for a calm city exploration.
