Kafee Kostuum Ghent

Kafee Kostuum is a typical Ghent neighbourhood café on the edge of the historic Patershol, a short distance from the Gravensteen. The café is known for its warm atmosphere, classic Belgian beers and homely interior with wooden tables, old photos and folk music in the background. It is a regular stop for locals wanting to experience authentic Ghent and for tourists looking for an alternative to the busy Korenlei.

The main entrance is step-free from the street. The ground-floor café room is tight but navigable; some of the inner aisles are narrow due to the wooden bench layout. The toilet is in a cellar space via a steep staircase and is not wheelchair-accessible. Public accessible toilets are available at the Gravensteen visitor centre, five minutes by wheelchair.

The Patershol is mostly paved with historic cobbles, which can make the approach difficult. For a more comfortable route, follow the flat strips along the Leie up to Geldmunt. Reserved parking spaces can be found on Sint-Veerleplein and a few streets further along. The immediate neighbourhood is particularly atmospheric but historically uneven.
