Restaurant Le Sanglier Villers-la-Ville
Restaurant Le Sanglier sits a few hundred metres from the famous abbey ruins of Villers-la-Ville, one of the most impressive Cistercian ruins in Europe. The restaurant specialises in game dishes during the season — wild boar, deer and pheasant — alongside an extensive menu of regional dishes, local beers and a selection of wines. The cosy dining room with wooden beams and a large open fireplace makes it a popular destination for weekend outings.
Accessibility is well looked after. The street-side entrance has a flush threshold and a double door of sufficient width. The large dining room is entirely on the ground floor with broad passageways between the tables. An adapted toilet with grab bars and a low washbasin is available in the hallway. On request, a table can be reserved close to the entrance or the open fireplace.
The restaurant has its own paved car park with adapted spaces right in front of the entrance. The immediate surroundings of the abbey are largely paved, and the official step-free trail through the ruins starts a ten-minute walk away. The abbey visitor car park also has reserved spaces.
