Restaurant Magis Tongeren
Restaurant Magis brings contemporary gastronomy to Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium. The cuisine is creative and seasonal, with attention to local Limburg products such as regional vegetables, fish from the Maas and cheeses from regional farms. The menu changes regularly and always includes a vegetarian option. The wine selection is thoughtful, with emphasis on smaller Belgian and French estates. The interior is contemporary with warm wooden accents.
The entrance is barrier-free from the pavement. The dining room on the ground floor is spacious with sufficient passage between the tables, and the chairs can be moved to make extra space for a wheelchair. The adapted toilet is on the ground floor and equipped with grab bars, a lowered washbasin and turning space. Reserve in advance and mention your accessibility needs.
Parking in Tongeren is best done at Parking Veemarkt or Parking Vermeulenstraat, both with disabled spaces within a short walking distance. The centre of Tongeren around the Grote Markt has some cobbled sections; ask when reserving for the most comfortable approach route. Combine your visit with a roll along the Roman walls, the Gallo-Roman Museum or the Beguinage of Tongeren.
