Wagon Léo is a legendary bistro-restaurant housed in an authentic 1946 railway carriage, prominently located on McAuliffe Square in the centre of Bastogne. This unique establishment has been an institution in the Ardennes for decades and owes its name to former owner Léo, who transformed the old carriage into a convivial eatery. The cuisine is hearty Ardennes fare: generous salads, steaks, regional game dishes, and brasserie classics, complemented by a fine selection of Belgian beers. The atmosphere inside the carriage is intimate and nostalgic, with the original woodwork and distinctive windows preserved.

Accessibility at Wagon Léo is good despite the unusual nature of the building. The main entrance is step-free and wide enough for wheelchairs. The restaurant has an extension built alongside the original carriage that is entirely on one level and comfortably accessible. The toilets are partially adapted: they are on the same level but offer a limited turning radius. The terrace on McAuliffe Square is paved and flat, ideal for wheelchair users who wish to eat outside in fine weather.

Wagon Léo is situated on McAuliffe Square, the historic central square of Bastogne closely linked to the Battle of the Bulge. In the immediate vicinity are the Bastogne War Museum and the Mardasson Memorial. Parking is available on the square itself and in the surrounding streets, with adapted spaces nearby. Bastogne is accessible via the E25 from Liege and the N4 from Namur. Public transport is limited, but bus connections are available from Liege and Arlon.
