The Bois de Waterloo, also known as Southern Sonian Forest, is an extensive woodland area south of Waterloo. The forest consists mainly of beech and oak trees and offers a network of walking paths through beautiful scenery. It lies near the historic Waterloo Battlefield and the Memorial 1815.

Some of the main paths through the forest are paved or semi-paved and suitable for wheelchair users, particularly the path from the car park at the Dreve du Chateau towards the Waterloo Pond. This path is relatively flat over a distance of about 2 kilometres. The narrower forest trails are unpaved and difficult to navigate in wet weather. Seasonal portable toilets are available at the main car park.

Parking with disabled bays is available at the main forest entrances. The forest borders the estate of the Chateau d'Argenteuil. A visit combines well with the Memorial 1815 and the Lion's Mound, both a short drive away.
