Domaine de Soignes Lasne
The Soignes Forest stretches across the borders of three regions and finds one of its quietest and greenest sections within the territory of Lasne. Tall beeches form a natural cathedral, with broom and foxglove in the open clearings. Walkers and riders come for the silence, the clear air, and the many old avenues that define the structure of the forest.
Accessibility in this part of the Soignes Forest is partial. From the car park at the Chemin du Gros Tienne, a wide, levelled forest avenue runs that can be followed for several hundred metres with a sporty wheelchair or rolling walker. The side paths become narrower and run over soft forest ground, roots and slopes. Adapted toilets are not available in the forest itself; facilities are present in nearby Lasne-Centre.
The car park at the edge of the forest is free and has several spaces suitable for PMR visitors. A visit to this part of the Soignes Forest combines well with the Waterloo battlefield and the visitor centre at the Lion's Mound, both a short drive away.
