The Boomkastelen play and discovery area in Wortel is part of the larger Bosland project in the Antwerp and Limburg Kempen. Wooden constructions by artist Will Beckers are scattered through the pine forest and invite a visit where children can climb, explore and play. The castles lie within walking and cycling distance of Wortel-Kolonie, a heritage landscape on the UNESCO list.

The starting loop around the Boomkastelen was laid out with accessibility in mind: the paths are wide and have a firm semi-paved surface that is navigable by many wheelchairs in dry conditions. The castles themselves are mainly a visual experience for wheelchair users, but there are play elements at eye level. An accessible toilet is located at the nearby information point.

There is a spacious car park at the starting point with a marked accessible space. The surroundings are rural and quiet, with wide forest paths that continue into the broader Bosland walking routes.
