Brouwerij De Koninck on the Mechelsesteenweg is the beating beer heart of Antwerp, famous for the De Koninck bolleke for more than 180 years. The fully renovated De Koninck City Brewery experience centre offers an interactive audio tour that takes you through the brewing process, the packaging line and the history of this iconic Antwerp beer, rounded off with a tasting. The site also houses a brasserie, bakery, cheese shop and chocolatier, making a visit a complete culinary experience.

The experience centre is a modern design with excellent wheelchair accessibility. All levels are reachable by lift, the walking routes are spacious and flat, and the audio tour is self-guided so you can explore the brewery at your own pace. The brasserie and shops on the ground floor are step-free. Several accessible toilets are available on the different floors.

Parking in the city neighbourhood around the brewery is limited; the nearest car parks are Parking De Koninck or Parking Harmonie, both with accessible spaces. Trams 4 and 7 stop a few minutes' walk away. The Mechelseplein and 't Zuid district are nearby, making a city walk after the visit appealing. Tickets are best booked online in advance.
