Bouillon Castle is Belgium's oldest feudal castle and one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in Europe. Perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Semois river, the castle dates back to the 8th century and is inextricably linked to Godfrey of Bouillon, the legendary crusader who sold his castle to finance the First Crusade. This imposing complex of thick walls, towers and underground passages offers a fascinating window into medieval defensive architecture.

Accessibility at the castle is partial. Due to its position on a rocky hillside and its medieval architecture, not all parts of the castle are accessible by wheelchair. The outdoor areas and some ground-floor halls are accessible, but steep slopes and stairs present obstacles. The castle offers daily birds of prey shows that can be watched from a flat seating area. Adapted toilets and PMR parking spaces are available. It is advisable to contact the castle in advance to discuss current accessibility conditions.

Bouillon Castle is located in the picturesque town of Bouillon in the Belgian Ardennes, accessible via the E411 and the N89. A visit to the castle combines excellently with a stroll through pretty Bouillon or a kayak trip on the Semois. The castle is open year-round with seasonal hours.
