Design Museum Ghent
Design Museum Ghent is Belgium's premier museum for design in all its forms. Housed in an elegant 18th-century townhouse with a modern wing on Jan Breydelstraat, the museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of design, from art nouveau and art deco to contemporary product and graphic design. The collection includes furniture, ceramics, silverware, textiles and numerous other design objects from Belgium and abroad.
The entire museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users, thanks to a new lift connecting all floors. The exhibition spaces are generously laid out and the pathways are wide enough for comfortable wheelchair navigation. The museum has adapted sanitary facilities.
Design Museum Ghent is a place where the past and future of design come together. The combination of the historic building with contemporary architecture creates a unique atmosphere that takes visitors on a visual journey of discovery.
