Handbike rental Hoge Kempen Dilsen-Stokkem

At the Limburg gateway to Hoge Kempen National Park in Dilsen-Stokkem stands a rental point focused specifically on accessible recreational cycling. Alongside classic hire bikes and e-bikes, you can reserve handbikes, duo cycles and wheelchair transport cycles. They are intended for riding out of the gateway onto the park's cycle path network, including the well-known cycle nodes around Kattevennen, Pijnven and the Mechelse Heide.

The hire shed is located at one of the six official gateways to the National Park. Access is step-free, the counter is lowered and there is ample room to queue with a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Adapted sanitary facilities are available in the gateway welcome building, a few metres away. Handbikes and duo cycles must be reserved several days in advance so the seat height, backrest and pedal setup can be adjusted to the user.

The car park in front of the gateway is paved and has reserved spaces right by the entrance. The cycle paths leading out of the gateway are surfaced with crushed stone, suitable for handbikes and wider tyres, with limited gradients. An accessible themed trail nearby is also recommended for those wanting a gentle first ride.
