The Hop Museum in Poperinge is housed in the former municipal hop warehouses on Gasthuisstraat and is the only museum in Belgium devoted entirely to the cultivation and culture of hops. Poperinge has been the centre of Belgian hop production for centuries, and the museum tells the story of this unique regional crop through tools, films, scents and interactive installations. The combination of historic heritage and contemporary museography makes a visit particularly engaging.

After 2018 the Hop Museum was thoroughly refurbished with explicit attention to accessibility. All four floors are now reachable by a spacious lift. The entrance is step-free and the reception desks are at an adapted height. Each themed room has enough space to turn around in a power wheelchair. Audio guides with subtitles are available, and on request wheelchair users may use a lightweight folding chair for companions free of charge.

Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor and on the third floor. The museum shop sells, among other things, local hop beers and gift packs and is fully step-free. The car park behind the museum has three reserved disabled spaces a few metres from the main entrance. For those arriving by train: Poperinge station is ten minutes away by wheelchair via level pavements.

A visit to the Hop Museum combines easily with a stroll across Poperinge's lovely market square and a visit to the accessible Saint Bertinus Church. During the hop season (late August to September) the museum also organises guided visits to an accessible hop farm in the area.
