Muntpunt Brussels
Muntpunt is the Dutch-language public library of Brussels and at the same time a vibrant meeting place, information centre, and study space in the heart of the capital. The building on the Muntplein has five floors with books, films, music, study spots, a café, and an event hall. Special attention is paid to multilingualism and Dutch-speaking cultural life in Brussels.
The building is fully wheelchair accessible. Automatic glass sliding doors give access to the level entrance hall. Spacious lifts connect all floors, and there are adapted toilets on each floor. The aisles between the bookshelves are wide enough for wheelchairs, and there are lowered counters at the reception. There are adapted reading and study spots with adjustable tables for wheelchair users.
Muntpunt is within walking distance of the Central Station, the Grand Place, and La Monnaie. Disabled parking spaces can be found in the Albertina and Rouppe car parks. Registering with the library is free for young people; for adults a small fee applies, with a discount for persons with a disability.
