Natuurpunt Plateaux/Eyserbeek Voeren
The Plateaux/Eyserbeek area in the Voer region is a unique corner of Limburg with calcareous grasslands, spring forests and wide vistas across the hilly landscape of Haspengouw and Voeren. The Eyserbeek stream meanders through the area and is the lifeline of a rich flora and fauna, including rare butterflies and birds. It is a favourite destination for walkers who love tranquillity and distant views.
Although the area as a whole is hilly, one specific walking loop with a paved, gently sloping surface has been laid out for wheelchair users and mobility scooters. This loop passes the main features of the area and offers views across the plateau. Steeper and unpaved paths deeper into the reserve remain inaccessible. A simple sanitary point with a partially adapted toilet is available at the visitor point.
The car park at the edge of the area offers adapted parking spaces close to the start of the adapted route. Access is free and picnic zones are provided along the trail. Natuurpunt advises checking the difficulty level of the surroundings in advance via their map and recommends enquiring about the condition of the paths in damp weather.
