Parc d'Enghien
The Parc d'Enghien is an extensive historic park estate in this Hainaut town, world-famous for its rare Chinese pavilion (17th century) — one of the earliest chinoiserie structures in Europe. The park offers trees, lawns, water features and historic garden design — a unique experience that combines culture, nature and heritage.
The main paths are paved and easy to access for wheelchair users. Some side paths are semi-paved and can be less comfortable after rain — stick to the main route for the best experience. Benches are placed regularly along the walking route. Some historic structures are less accessible due to their old architecture — the adapted main route through the park itself, however, is excellent.
Public parking with reserved spaces is available in the immediate vicinity. For toilet access, plan a stop at nearby cafés or the Hôtel de Ville during opening hours. Combine your visit with the Bibliothèque communale for a full afternoon in Enghien.
