♿ Wheelchair accessible

Parc de la Broucheterre lies in the upper town of Charleroi, in the neighbourhood behind Place du Manege and not far from the Beaux-Arts Museum. The park is a green oasis between the buildings and is a favourite walking spot for families, dog owners and residents who want a brief escape from the bustle of the Ville Basse. At the heart of the park stand old plane trees and a fountain that runs through the summer months.

Accessibility is good. The main paths are wide and paved with smooth tiles or asphalt and the slopes are limited to a gentle gradient. The children's play area has a wheelchair-accessible rubber soft-fall surface, with a few inclusive play structures. Benches are amply provided. Adapted toilets are not permanently on site; the nearest facilities are in the neighbouring BPS22 art centre, which has public sanitary facilities.

Disabled parking spaces lie along the Boulevard Solvay. The park is easily reached on the level from Charleroi-Sud station via the metro, which uses accessible vehicles. Combining with BPS22, the Photo Museum Charleroi or a terrace break nearby makes a pleasant half day. The park is also lit and safe in the evening.
