Provincial Domain Puyenbroeck
Provincial Domain Puyenbroeck is one of the largest recreation areas in East Flanders, covering no less than 510 hectares in Wachtebeke. The domain offers an impressive range of activities: walking, cycling, swimming in the 50-metre pool, golf, inline skating, trampoline jumping and much more. Between 2019 and 2021, a brand-new experiential landscape of 50 hectares was created with hills, water features and natural elements. Access to the domain is free.
Wheelchair accessibility is good. Specific wheelchair-accessible routes have been mapped out, including a 2.7 km route and a longer 6 km route, both starting from Parking 2 on Puidonkdreef. Along both routes, wheelchair-accessible toilets and dining facilities can be found. The paths are generally well paved, although the path to the Living Heritage Park may be less passable after rain. An alternative route avoids the bridge over the pond.
The domain has adapted parking spaces and accessible sanitary facilities. Additionally, there is a wheelchair-friendly 5 km walk along the Zuidlede river through the domain. With its enormous size, varied nature and extensive sports facilities, Puyenbroeck is an ideal destination for a day outdoors for the whole family.
