♿ Wheelchair accessible

Aquafit Ghent is a swimming and exercise centre that emphasises health, rehabilitation and accessible physical activity. Alongside free swim sessions and lane swimming, there is an extensive programme of aquafit, aqua gym and aqua jogging classes, including sessions specifically for older adults, pregnant women and people with joint problems. The warmer water and shallow zones make the pool suitable for participants who have difficulty moving around.

Accessibility is a clear strength. The main entrance is barrier-free, with automatic sliding doors and a lowered reception desk. Adapted changing cabins have their own shower, fold-down seat and support bars, and are located right next to the pool. Entry into the pool is via a pool hoist or via a sloped ramp with handrails. Some aquagym sessions are led by a physiotherapist who can work with wheelchair users. Accessible toilets are located near the changing cabins and in the lobby.

In front of the entrance there are several reserved parking spaces on paved ground. The centre is also easily reached by bus and tram, with stops a few hundred metres away. The route from stop to entrance is flat and paved, with lowered kerbs at crossings.
