♿ Wheelchair accessible

The Town Hall of Ypres is the administrative centre of the city and houses the civil affairs, spatial planning, social affairs and reception services. Because of the historic reconstruction after the First World War, Ypres has striking architecture — the town hall is a central facility within walking distance of the Grote Markt and the Cloth Hall.

The main entrance is step-free and accessible to wheelchair users. Inside, the corridors are spacious and a lift connects the floors. A lower counter height at reception ensures comfortable contact. An accessible toilet is available. For specific appointments (for example a marriage ceremony), it is advisable to call in advance so staff can ensure the extra accessibility flow.

Reserved parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity. Consider combining your visit with the Public Library within walking distance, the Yper Museum or the nature reserve Palingbeek for a full day in Ypres.
