Restaurant Guus Smits is a contemporary bistro restaurant in the Ghent city centre, within walking distance of the Gravensteen and the Korenlei. The chef works with local, seasonal products and serves dishes that move between classic and modern: pan-fried sea bass with beurre blanc, risotto with wild mushrooms, and a small selection of cheese platters to round off. The atmosphere is informal but polished, with an open kitchen that is part of the experience.

The main entrance is step-free and the ground floor is spaciously laid out with sufficient passage between the tables. An adapted toilet with grab rails and lowered washbasin is available on the ground floor. On request, the staff will gladly reserve a suitable table and ensure extra space. The first floor is only reachable by stairs, but all facilities are also available on the ground floor.

The restaurant is in the low-traffic centre of Ghent; parking is possible in one of the underground car parks (Vrijdagmarkt, Kouter, or Sint-Michiels) which all have lifts and reserved spaces. The approach route runs over historic cobblestones that are not always level - for some wheelchair users assistance is advisable. From Gent-Sint-Pieters tram 1 runs to the centre, with step-free low-floor vehicles.
