MOU - Museum Oudenaarde en de Vlaamse Ardennen
The MOU - Museum Oudenaarde en de Vlaamse Ardennen is housed in the magnificent late-Gothic town hall of Oudenaarde, one of the finest town halls in Belgium. The museum holds an impressive collection of tapestries for which Oudenaarde was famous for centuries. It also provides a fascinating overview of the history and landscape of the Flemish Ardennes. The silver collection and the historic interior of the town hall are equally worth seeing.
Accessibility at the MOU is partial. The historic town hall has been adapted to welcome visitors with disabilities, but the monumental character inevitably brings some limitations. A lift provides access to most floors. The ground floor is largely wheelchair accessible. Some rooms have narrow passages or thresholds. An adapted toilet is available. It is advisable to contact the museum in advance for information about current accessibility.
The MOU is located on the Grote Markt of Oudenaarde. Accessible parking spaces are available on and around the market square. Oudenaarde station is within walking distance. A visit to the museum combines culture with the charm of the historic city centre of Oudenaarde.
