Museum of Fine Arts Ghent (MSK)
The Museum of Fine Arts Ghent, MSK for short, is one of the oldest and most important museums in Belgium. The collection spans eight centuries of art history, from medieval masters such as Hieronymus Bosch and Rogier van der Weyden to modern artists such as James Ensor and Théo Van Rysselberghe. The neoclassical museum building lies beautifully in the Citadel Park, within walking distance of the city centre.
For wheelchair users the MSK is excellently accessible. The main entrance on the Fernand Scribedreef has a level approach and automatic doors. All floors are reachable via spacious lifts and the exhibition rooms are linked level to level without thresholds. Adapted toilets are present on the ground floor and wheelchairs are available at the reception. Disabled parking spaces can be found close to the entrance in the Citadel Park.
The MSK regularly organises tailored guided tours for visitors with a disability and, during busy exhibitions, makes it possible to have rest moments in the large halls. In the museum shop and the accompanying café-brasserie you can relax after your visit. Combined with a walk through the accessible Citadel Park, this is an ideal cultural day trip in Ghent.
