Cafe Au Bon Vieux Temps sits on the Place McAuliffe in the heart of Bastogne, right next to the famous Sherman tank monument. Since 1947 the venue has built up a loyal following thanks to a mix of classic cafe charm, an extensive list of Trappist and Ardennes regional beers, and a simple bistro menu of classics such as meatballs in tomato sauce, jambon d'Ardenne and pates lorraines.

Accessibility is good. The main entrance on the Place McAuliffe is barrier-free thanks to a recently added gentle ramp. The spacious dining room has a level floor and wide aisles. At the bar, an adapted table section sits at wheelchair height. The adapted toilets on the ground floor meet standard norms with grab rails and turning space. The terrace on the Place McAuliffe is fully level and opens in summer with a view of the tank monument.

Parking with a blue badge is possible on the Rue de Marche just a few metres from the cafe. The venue is ten minutes' roll from the Bastogne War Museum and is an ideal rest stop for those exploring the war sites of the Ardennes. Open seven days a week, with a hot lunch between 12:00 and 14:00 and a continuous cafeteria menu throughout the day.
