MAS - Museum aan de Stroom
The MAS, Museum aan de Stroom, is one of Antwerp's most striking buildings. The 60-metre tall tower of red sandstone and curved glass stands at the Bonapartedok in the Eilandje district and offers a unique panorama over the city, the River Scheldt and the port. The museum tells stories about Antwerp and the wider world through engaging exhibitions on themes such as power, life and death, and the sea. The MAS Boulevard, which spirals upward around the building, is free to access and provides an ever-widening view at each level.
Accessibility at the MAS is excellent. The entire building, including all exhibition halls and the panoramic rooftop on the tenth floor, is reachable via spacious lifts. The pathways inside the museum are wide and level, ideal for wheelchair users. Adapted sanitary facilities are located on the ground floor. Three wheelchairs are available free of charge at the reception desk and can be reserved in advance by email or telephone.
The museum strives to be as accessible and inclusive as possible. The Boulevard and museum galleries are furnished with resting benches, and portable folding chairs are available in each room. The MAS is a place where architecture, culture and urban stories come together in a way that is accessible to everyone. A visit to the panoramic rooftop at sunset is an unforgettable experience.
