Red Star Line Museum
The Red Star Line Museum is housed in the restored sheds where, between 1873 and 1934, more than two million people boarded ships bound for North America. The museum tells the moving stories of these emigrants and draws parallels with contemporary migration. Through personal testimonies, interactive exhibitions and historical documents, visitors are taken on an emotional journey of hope, farewell and new beginnings.
Accessibility is excellent. The entire museum, including the observation tower with a panoramic view over the city and port, is reachable by lift. In the shed, you can take the stairs or lift to the Upper Deck, the basement or the tower. In the basement, an adapted toilet is available for visitors with reduced mobility, with access code 2000A. The corridors and exhibition spaces are spaciously designed and suitable for wheelchair users.
The Red Star Line Museum is a partner of the European Disability Card project: with this card, your companion enters free of charge. The museum recommends contacting them at least 24 hours before your visit if you have specific accessibility needs. It is a moving and important destination that brings the story of millions of migrants to life in an accessible way.
